Surfin' the net

* Before Christmas I was looking on Amy Butler's website and noticed that Skinit stocks phone skins (and skins for other electronic devices) in Amy's designs, so as she is one of my favourite fabric designers, I immediately ordered one for my phone.
* One of my Christmas presents was this incredibly useful tool box.  The idea came from Poppyprint. I love it. As my sewing space is a room off the back of the garage, I tend to leave my machine on the dining room table because I like to sew in the house. This tool box is perfect for me to keep all my current projects, sewing utensils and supplies all neat and tidy.  And it's so easy to transport things back and forth.
* Finally, my very talented friend Kathy from Material Obsession has a couple of projects in this month's Better Homes and Gardens magazine, perfect to take on your holidays.
Now back to the machine, I'm hoping to sew the binding on Lewis' quilt today!!

I am a very lucky girl ...

Just before Christmas Victoria from Bumblebeans organised a "Serious Stash Swap" on the 15 minutes play website.  She paired me with Kim from My Go-Go Life and lickety split, I was sent this beautiful array of fabrics.  The point of the swap was to swap 20 fabrics from your stash with the idea that the receiver receives fabric they may not have necessarily bought themselves.  Each piece of fabric that I received was perfect, so much so, I have actually left a couple out of this photo as I've already allocated them to projects I'm working on.  Of course it is very exciting to receive a parcel in the mail, all the way from the other side of the planet, but what is most lucky about this swap is that I've been introduced to Kim.
So thank you Kim for my fabrics and thank you Victoria for organising this awesome swap.

New Year ... New Blog

Hi, I've decided to start a blog for my sewing.  I'm hoping it will help me with my UFOs, I have so many and I am never afraid to start something new.  My problem is the overwhelming amount of stimulation at my fingertips in the form of the internet!
So, welcome and enjoy.

I'm participating in the Bloggers BOM which is being hosted by Jackie at Canton Village Quilt Works. I have just finished my fourth block.
I am quite a relaxed sewer, my points don't always meet and maybe my colour choices aren't always right, but I enjoy the process.
